Aquarium fertilizer (PMDD)

Fertilizer PMDD: prescription and dosage for the aquatic plants

First of all: this prescription is not one my production… but is at this point patrimony of the community acquariofila! : -)
The situated one from which it has been originally taken is this.
The PMDD (poor man dosing drops or fertilizer of the poor ones) is based on the studies of Colin & Sears and regards the realization of a fertilizer for Aquarium that allowed to the aquatic plants of having the windward on the alghe. In fact the game as we know is here all, better they are the plants and less alghe we will see in our tropical sweet water Aquarius.
In average liter of water of osmosis (or distilled, as that one for the iron from I iron) you melt:

1. 1 spoon of chelati elements LACKING IN N-P-K (the found ones in the vivai to L. 10,000 scato it from ten envelopes)
2. 1 spoon of MgSO4, Magnesium sulfate, (the found ones in pharmacy with the name of knows them English to 800 L the envelope) melted in 7 water spoons. It goes ONLY inserted if the GH is advanced to 4-5°- 2 spoons of K2SO4, sulfate of potassio (the found ones on a commission basis in pharmacy)
3. 1 spoon of KNO3, nitrate of Potassio (the found ones on a commission basis in pharmacy). With fish in bathtub it does not have to be put!!! I have paid 30,000 Liras in pharmacy for means chilo of KNO3 and means chilo of K2SO4.

If considered the fact that of every element comes uses you between the 10 approximately and the 20 grams you will notice of like, dosing twenty or so drops to the day, the cost is absolutely ridicule. The doses according to vary the ability to the Aquarius, of the amount of plants, the amount and quality of the lighting system and the CO2. A system in order to quantify the optimal dose is the test of the Iron, than it does not have to never exceed the concentration of 0,1 mg. /l. Remembered but that is also much difficult to measure iron in Aquarius, because is an element that comes ENDURED absorbed, therefore is nearly useless, better to see if evidences of one exist deficiency of iron on the leaves and the colors of the plants.

Personally I have used this fertilizer for some years and with great satisfaction. : -)
Of it I poured approximately a stopper of every bottle 50 liters, 2 times to week, and I added some of the other for the changes of the water.
The dose for your bathtub you must by themselves find it, beginning with one small amount and increasing it single after 1 month of test, for the plants the times for whichever variation in Aquarius are much long.

Fertilizzante PMDD: ricetta e dosaggio per le piante acquatiche
(versione italiana - ENGLISH VERSION)

Premetto che questa ricetta non è una mia produzione...ma è oramai patrimonio della comunità acquariofila! :-)
Il sito da cui è stata originariamente presa è questo.
Il PMDD (poor man dosing drops o fertilizzante dei poveri) è basato sugli studi di Colin & Sears e riguarda la realizzazione di un fertilizzante per acquari che permettesse alle piante acquatiche di avere il sopravvento sulle alghe. Infatti il gioco come sappiamo è tutto qui, meglio stanno le piante e meno alghe vedremo nei nostri acquari tropicali d'acqua dolce.
In mezzo litro d'acqua d'osmosi (oppure distillata, come quella per il ferro da stiro) sciogliete:

1. 1 cucchiaio di elementi chelati PRIVI DI N-P-K(lo trovate nei vivai a L. 10.000 scatola da dieci buste)
2. 1 cucchiaio di MgSO4, solfato di Magnesio, (lo trovate in farmacia con il nome di sale inglese a L 800 la busta) sciolto in 7 cucchiai di acqua. Va inserito SOLO se il GH è superiore a 4-5°- 2 cucchiai di K2SO4, solfato di potassio(lo trovate su commissione in farmacia)
3. 1 cucchiaio di KNO3, nitrato di Potassio (lo trovate su commissione in farmacia). Con pesci in vasca non si deve mettere!!! Ho pagato 30.000 lire in farmacia per mezzo chilo di KNO3 e mezzo chilo di K2SO4.

Se considerate il fatto che di ogni elemento vengono utilizzati all'incirca tra i 10 e i 20 grammi vi accorgerete di come, somministrando una ventina di gocce al giorno, il costo sia assolutamente ridicolo. Le dosi variano in funzione della capacità dell'acquario, della quantità di piante, della quantità e qualità dell'illuminazione e della CO2. Un sistema per quantificare la dose ottimale è il test del Ferro, che non deve mai superare la concentrazione di 0,1 mg./l. Ricordate però che è anche molto difficile misurare il ferro in acquario, perchè è un elemento che viene SUBITO assorbito, quindi è quasi inutile, meglio vedere se esistono evidenze di una carenza di ferro sulle foglie e sui colori delle piante.

Personalmente ho utilizzato questo fertilizzante per alcuni anni e con grande soddisfazione. :-)
Ne versavo circa un tappo di bottiglia ogni 50 litri, 2 volte a settimana, e ne aggiungevo dell'altro per i cambi dell'acqua.
La dose per la vostra vasca dovete trovarla da soli, iniziando con una piccola quantità e aumentandola solo dopo 1 mese di test, per le piante i tempi per qualsiasi variazione in acquario sono molto lunghi.
